I really am not the best student, at leastAug 06 2006Education
I really am not the best student, at least I was not before I came to Knox. My ACT score is hardly up to parr and my grades were B average. The most important part of admission I would say is the interview. If you are really serious about learning and being in a community of learners then Knox is for you.
ACT: 23 Male
I worked very hard on my entrance essayOct 22 2005Other
I worked very hard on my entrance essay. I would suggest anyone trying to get into Knox work on their essay, because not only do they give it a lot of weight in admissions, they also give it to your advisor when you start taking classes. Also, Knox makes an effort to accept students who aren't necessarily A-students, but who they believe have the potential to be productive students. They actually made the decision not to require test scores (ACT, SAT, etc.), because they don't think they are the best determinant of a student's potential. Thus, my advice is to concentrate on the essay and any other written responses where you can show your true character.
ACT: 30 SAT: 1310 Female
I was involved with a lot ofFeb 26 2004Other
I was involved with a lot of activities in high school, volunteer work, and activities that developed leadership skills. I also had a part-time job and did really well in school. Knox is looking for people who will add to the cultural diversity of campus, and cultural diversity doesn't just refer to the color of your skin or your ethnic background. Be yourself, be involved, that's how you get into Knox.
ACT: 31 SAT: 1290 Female
I was honest in my interviews, outgoing and friendlyDec 02 2003Psychology
I was honest in my interviews, outgoing and friendly. Even if you're the slightest bit interested, act like every school is your first choice school. ask lots of meaningful questions, especially about programs at the college. and i wrote my admissions essay about something personal. somehting that changed my life completely. i had a friend write about how when she was 11/12 her mother was addicted to meth, how that changed her life. she got into all of her schools with the essay. take a risk and show a side of yourself, they'll appreciate the authenticity. (just remember not to tell them you're doing drugs now! :))
ACT: 26 SAT: 1200 Female
